Scope

The inquiry was initiated in March 1995 following problems with the transfer of 10,000 drums of radioactive waste from Lucas Heights to Woomera in late 1994. The committee's extensive terms of reference covered the national and international aspects of production, storage, treatment, transport and disposal of radioactive waste in Australia.
