Scope

The Standing Committee on Primary and Secondary Industry and Trade was one of the first two committees to be established after the adoption of the Senate standing committee system in 1970. Its first inquiry, into Tasmanian shipping services, echoed the subject matter of the first inquiry undertaken by a Senate committee in 1901.
