Scope
The standing committee examined annual reports of relevant government agencies and conducted general inquiries on subjects including the social consequences of technological change, effect of phosphate mining on wildlife on Christmas Island, proposals for a sand mine at Shelburne Bay and policies for the use of Commonwealth land.
